Lorne Main Beach
The long stretch of sand right out front of the township. Patrolled in summer, with grassed picnic areas, an outdoor pool, and a generally calm shore. The default with families.
Loutit Bay sits in a long, gentle arc — easy for a swim with the kids out front of town, and a quick drive in either direction takes you to surf, fishing rocks, and a few coves the bus tours never bother with.

Lorne Point picks up most of the south swell that runs through. Further south, Boneyards, Fairhaven and Big Hill are within a short drive.
The pier and the rocks at Stony Creek both fish reasonably well. Sheltered rock pools below Mountjoy Parade are a good spot to mooch with kids at low tide.
A short drive north, Cumberland River sits in a tight river‑mouth cove with steep cliffs either side and a campground in behind. Quieter than the main beach.
