In 1976, Chris and Carol purchased their beautiful property situated high on the hill overlooking the township of Lorne. The couple raised their family and have lived on the property ever since.

Chris, previously a dental technician, is a true local (raised in Lorne) and Carol, a former teacher has lived in Lorne for 35 years. With the aid of local tradesman, Chris and Carol built the Lorne Bush House Cottages in 1996 and have enjoyed managing them and meeting a diversity of local and international guests over the years.

The cottages offer an indulgence in nature – wake to the kookaburras laughing, spot a kangaroo grazing just off the deck, smell the eucalyptus wafting through the air, hear the distant breaking waves echoing up the gully and enjoy the fantastic silence of the night, broken only by the call of the mopoke or bullfrog on the dam.

More recently, Lorne Bush House Cottage has opened the first eco tents in Lorne – the deluxe eco lodges. Designed for “experience seekers”, this is classy camping.

We love Lorne because of its amazing natural beauty, its great cafes and restaurants and the wonderful friendly locals that reside here.
