Lorne will be the perfect host to world-class bike riding event Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo, as participants complete a variety of rides over September 10-11 in and around Lorne, which will be buzzing full of industry exhibitors and food vendors all weekend.
The fully-closed event has established itself as one of the most popular rides in Australia with almost 6000 participants in 2015 and a distance for every type of bike rider.
Distances include:
- 120km Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo – New reverse course that concludes with breathtaking views along the Great Ocean Road & finishes on the main street in Lorne
- 45km Amy’s Medio Fondo – Showcases the entire stretch of the picturesque Great Ocean Road from Apollo Bay to Lorne (includes return bus)
- 7km Amy’s Family Fondo – Chose to do one or two laps of the 7km loop. Ideal for families, kids and the local community

Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo places a huge emphasis on safety, with all participants required to complete a safety briefing before riding.
Saturday September 10 2016 will see the Amy’s Otway Tour Criterium in the main street of Lorne in the afternoon followed by Amy’s Wall hill-climb in the evening.
On Sunday 11 September 2016 Australia’s best female cyclists take to the fully closed Great Ocean Road as part of Amy’s Otway Tour Classic before the main field in Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo take their turn to enjoy the breathtaking views of Bass Strait and the Otway Ranges.
Lorne’s beach front will focus around the event’s big screen, with industry exhibitors, food vendors and bars creating the ideal dwelling for families to relax and riders to wind down post-event.
Fundraising has been designed to encourage and reward participants, with those raising $250 gaining entry into the front of your age category, recreation category or Amy’s Medio Fondo. Likewise, $150 places participants in the second start group and $100 will allow guests to follow in the third start group.
